Embrace the unknown. Transform your life.

My instructor offered me crucial advice when navigating the challenge of driving up an incredibly steep hill: Now trust your Cruiser because “All you’ll see is sky.” This simple guidance became the cornerstone of my memoir’s title, symbolizing the journey of trust and resilience that unfolded between Tom and me. Our Land Cruiser was a symbol of strength and reliability, and I eventually became an expert off-road driver. There wasn’t a hill that could hold me back. I was almost as good as Tom. Our Cruiser represented our trust in ourselves and our relationships, even when the road ahead seemed uncertain. Every day, as we ventured into the unknown, it mirrored the unexpected twists and turns of my personal life and our marriage. The only guarantee we had was the vast open sky. This metaphorical landscape of uncertainty and trust. Reflecting on this journey, I am struck by the importance of resilience in how my marriage and life evolved in ways I could never have anticipated. Each experience, marked by joy or challenge, has contributed to a deeper understanding of myself, Tom, or us as a couple. These highs and low experiences have all been invaluable teachers, revealing lessons about our resilience, love, and growth that we could never have imagined beforehand. Guided by that pivotal moment on the hill, my memoir’s title encapsulates the essence of navigating life’s steep ascents and unforeseen horizons. It is a comforting reassurance that trust in oneself and one’s partner, even when faced with daunting obstacles, is the key to profound personal and relational growth. This trust is the foundation on which we can build our lives and relationships, even in the face of uncertainty.
