Janet A Wilson

BOTSWANA

  • Tom and Janet with Land Cruiser. I don’t know where the photo was taken, but it was in Botswana.
  • Sunset at the campsite. Africa has such incredible sunsets. Perhaps because the sun sets so fast.
  • Infant elephant following mom to the river.
  • The same infant elephant with its mother and matriarch of the herd at the river’s edge.
  • A curious warthog visiting me at the campsite. We often stayed in unfenced campsites.
  • Campsite toilets, his and her.
  • A bored lion is yawning before going to sleep. The lion had been eating a dead hippo in the river.
  • Mother warthog and baby. Warthogs are very protective of their young.
  • Hippo with a youngster. Hippos kill more people than any other wild animal in Africa because they live in rivers and lakes, and people need to fetch water or fish in these rivers or lakes.
  • A fish eagle.
  • Scam artists at the Botswana-Zambia river crossing.
  • Driving onto a ferry going from Botswana to Zambia
