The Prickly Pear and the Peach

Alone in the car for hundreds of days, Tom and I chatted about everything, including if we were a fruit, what type best describes us. Tom said mine is a prickly pear, and I said his is a peach. This is how we present ourselves to the world, the Peach and the Prickly Pear. Let me explain, and then you can decide what fruit best describes you.

Tom always presents as a peach, sweet on the outside, but inside, he is as solid as a peach pit, tough and hard to crack.

On the other hand, I am a prickly pear on the outside; I don’t give much away, but inside, I am sweet, and if you need me, I am the first person you should reach out to.

So, we are the perfect team. When I need to be tough, Tom is sweet. And when Tom is tough, I need to be lovely. We worked so well as a team, navigating through every experience or event on our journey.

What fruit would you be? As delicious and exotic as they may be, South African prickly pears can be a nightmare to harvest. The trick is never to let your bare hands come into contact with the prickly pear skin with its tiny, near-invisible thorns. Every South African knows this! And now, so do you. Smile
