…….. the relaxing zone, the adventure zone, and the extreme or ordeal zone. It’s the adventure zone that truly ignites our spirits, leading us into the heart-pounding, exhilarating world of travel.

Relaxing on a beach with no stress. Staying at an all-inclusive resort, with all meals and entertainment provided. Join an educational tour with everything arranged and knowledgeable guides to inform you about every place or event you visit. There is minimal stress while on an inclusive cruise. I am not sure what is wrong with Tom and me, but after 3-4 of stress-free travel, we quickly became bored and sought adventure travel with its adrenaline highs and fun. Although we relaxed and enjoyed our time exploring Milan,

During our travels, we often found ourselves in the adventure zone, where challenges and risks were part of the journey. It was in these moments of discomfort that we felt truly alive, our senses heightened. We yearned for this feeling to last forever. Our journey was filled with highlights such as hiking with Gorillas in Rwanda, driving across the Sahara, and encountering new cultures. Scaling the peaks of Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park in Madagascar or perhaps driving across a river. Each experience was a testament to our resilience and a source of unforgettable, enriching memories.

However, occasionally, we find ourselves in ordeals or extreme travel; there is certainly no fun, and the risks are high. These are situations where we faced life-threatening risks, such as negotiating landmines, being trapped in a country experiencing a coup, or encountering armed bands of rebels or militia. For instance, we were once described by a Canadian Embassy as their ‘worst nightmare’ when we decided against their advice to continue travelling our planned route. It was a hellish drive, but we survived, but only just! Here, we were taken out of our comfort level but not to the point where anxiety kicked in.

Adventure travel and exploring the remote corners of the globe are our sweet spot for travel. It’s where we feel most alive, most engaged. It’s where we’ve had our most enriching experiences. What’s your sweet spot? We encourage you to find it, to explore and discover the type of travel that truly resonates with you.
